Santa in Crime

shining bright in a cold and windy Christmas night.

getting festive up high above Berchtesgaden

Instead of taking adventures inside at the ‘most wonderful time of the year’ we’d much rather make ourselves at home outside!

  • Conditions
    stormy, snowy, cold
on the first day everything was melting with an extremly strong Föhn-Wind blowing up to 145 km/h. During the day the wind eventually calmed down and clouds started piling up, eventually bringing the snow we had hoped for. The wind did chance direction, still blowing very strong but icy at the same time.
  • Team
    KontraPixel meets Ben Spengler Photography
for this project I teamed up with a good friend and fellow photographer Ben Spengler
  • Equipment
staying outdoors for two days in these conditions we do need a strong and robust tent, and some strong power supplies to light up the tree
Tent: Hilleberg Nallo 2GT Power Supplies: Goal Zero Yeti 400, Sherpa 100, Nomad 14+, Lighthouse Mini, Light-A-Life Backpack: Gregory Deva 70S Sleepingmat: Exped Downmat 9 LW, Sleepingbag: Mountain Equipment Classic 1000 Snowshoes: Tubbs Women's Flex Alp Clothing: As we always end up with a shitload of Equipment I tend to reduce my clothing as much as I can. So I end up with Icebreaker Merino Baselayer aka 2 sleveless Tops, 2 longsleves, one Icebreaker Quantum LS Zip Hood and a Merino Longjohn. Combined with a warm Softshellpant an Arcteryx Atom LT Primaloft and a warm Downjacket and a max of 3 Pairs of Socks and 2 Undies I have all I need.
